Halloween

Kitty KatI’m a sucker for Halloween. I wish our streets were safe enough for Scout and her peeps to go trick or treating in the spirit of brilliantly contrived lolly-scams (I did buy some candy… just in case). I can’t help it. I love a good scare. I love a bit of sinister undercurrent in my day (although I could probably do without the redneck chaos of Salem during Haunted Happenings). I love that – in theory – my child can dress up as something that is not a fairy or a princess.

Lightning StormOriginally I had planned to go to Karaoke with some girlfriends (scarier than a Harry Warden gas-mask and a chainsaw put together) but alas, sickness prevailed (cue white mouth frothing and bright white zombie eyes. Except not.) But instead, Husband and I watched a brilliant thunder and lightning storm, then tucked ourselves away for a horror movie “Quarantine” (U.S remake of [Rec]). It was perfect just as it was.

And the best part is that there is still candy in the pantry.
