Music to give birth to

I have a dilemma. I need to pack some CDs in my hospital bag to play during labour, presumably to drown out the unearthly shrieks I’m bound to unleash.
Question is, what do I pack? I’m thinking relaxing music, as am bit of fan of ambient/chillout stuff, but so far I only have Cafe Del Mar Volume 7 (a standard) and Delerium’s “Karma”. I thought about Radiohead, but some tracks are too mournful or some Dave Matthews but not sure I could handle hearing “When the World Ends” though I would probably be able to empathise.
Please help. I need CD suggestions (whole CDs rather than individual tracks – the hospital isn’t that far advanced). I haven’t been into a music store for over a year so am a bit ignorant as to what is probably out there.
In terms of musical taste, I was thinking of sticking to chillout stuff (I wanted to get a Paul Schwartz CD but local JB Hi-Fi not that alternative), but all suggestions considered! Anything that won’t have me kicking the CD player in irritation (although McG prefers I do this than smacking him, apparently. Doesnt’ he know what his job as support person is????)
Permanent Link - Hammy, it would be ideal if we could bring an MP3 player if only for two things: 1) we don’t have one and 2) I doubt the hospital would have the ability to plug one in.
Thanks Numine – I used to love Enya but these days she irritates the bejesus out of me – never heard of The Album Leaf, Iron & Wine & The Postal Service. What kind of music do these dudes play?

Gleek – am now nearly 36 weeks (holy shit!) so have between 11 and 32 days. Too damn late to put in an Amazon order methinks (otherwise I’d deffo get some Paul Schwartz.)... grrrrrr.

here are a few things that pop to mind after looking at my ipod..
air, “talkie walkie”
bach cello suites (always a nice one)
boards of canada (anything they make is soothing and loungy)
if you can get one of the “om lounge” cds (these are compilations) go for either #2, #4, or #5.
velour 100, “of color bright” (really nice and you totally wouldn’t believe it’s christian.. yeah. totally.)
when my time comes, i’m going for plenty of classical. that’ll be the only thing for soothing my nerves.

It’s really gorgeous to listen to and chills me right out when I’m stressed. And anything by Enya is always soothing; Paint the Sky with Stars is a nice albumn, it has all my favourites on it.
Then again, I heard Guns & Roses from one room while my sister was in hospital a couple months back…
